The recipe.
Scaling adjusts quantities only. Prepare shaken drinks in individual portions.
Let’s make a good drink.
Chill a coupe and prepare the garnish before mixing.
Add all measured ingredients except sparkling water to a shaker.
Add ice and shake until cold, strain back into the empty tin to remove the ice, then seal and shake again without ice to build the foam.
Open the shaker, add the measured soda without sealing or shaking again, then strain into the chilled serving glass.
Squeeze a fresh lime peel over the surface for its oils, then rest it against the glass.
A thoughtful finish
- Include the listed foamer in the shake and add the soda only after both shake stages.
- Measure the cocktail foamer in dashes as printed; a foamer is not an extra sweetener.
- Chill the serving glass as well as the mixture so the first sip stays cold.
Common mistakes
- Following the source’s inconsistent ingredient count literally would omit foamer; use all still ingredients.
- Omitting the foamer removes the ingredient intended to create the foamy surface.
- A warm serving glass quickly undoes the chilling achieved during mixing.
A few good questions.
What is in a Limoncello Sour?
Limoncello Sour is made with vodka, limoncello, lime and aperitivo with a foamy, lightly sparkling finish.
Can I scale a Limoncello Sour for more servings?
Multiply every measured ingredient by the same serving count. Prepare the measured still ingredients ahead if useful, but chill, shake or stir each serving as directed; add any carbonated finish at service.
Does this recipe contain egg?
This selected formula uses cocktail foamer rather than egg. Check the actual foamer’s ingredients before describing the finished drink as vegan or allergen-free.

Variations
- Another bottle of the base — Editorial bottle variation: use another producer of the same vodka style at the listed measure; record the bottle rather than assuming identical sweetness or strength.
- Alternate citrus garnish — Editorial presentation variation: use a different fresh citrus peel or slice for aroma without changing the measured liquids; garnish quantity is not an added juice measure.
