The recipe.

Scaling adjusts quantities only. Prepare shaken drinks in individual portions.

Step by step

Let’s make a good drink.

  1. Chill a Collins glass and prepare the garnish before mixing.

  2. Add all measured ingredients except sparkling water to a shaker.

  3. Seal and shake without ice to blend the egg, then add ice and shake again until the tin feels thoroughly cold.

  4. Fine strain into the prepared Collins glass over fresh ice.

  5. Add the reserved measured sparkling ingredient gently; if the source specifies a top-up, fill to taste rather than inventing a fixed volume.

  6. Finish with a thin lemon slice. Place fresh mint at the surface for its aroma.

A thoughtful finish

  • Use pasteurized yolk and reserve the soda for the final open-glass top-up.
  • Use the pasteurized egg product specified for this build, and measure it before adding it to the tin.
  • Chill the serving glass as well as the mixture so the first sip stays cold.

Common mistakes

  • Adding the soda before shaking loses carbonation and makes a sealed shaker unsuitable.
  • Insufficient shaking leaves the egg poorly incorporated and the texture uneven.
  • A warm serving glass quickly undoes the chilling achieved during mixing.

A few good questions.

What is in a Golden Fizz?

Golden Fizz is made with gin, lemon, rich syrup and egg yolk shaken and topped with soda.

Can I scale a Golden Fizz for more servings?

Scale the measured base ingredients together and top each glass individually. The source leaves the top-up volume unspecified, so do not invent a fixed amount or a numeric alcohol percentage.

Can I leave out the egg?

Leaving out the egg changes the texture; the selected recipe includes it. An egg-free version should be labeled as an adaptation rather than presented as the same build.

What glass should I use for a Golden Fizz?

Use the assigned Collins glass for this directory serving. Where that differs from the source’s presentation, the version note labels the serving adaptation.

Variations

  • Another bottle of the base — Editorial bottle variation: use another producer of the same london dry gin style at the listed measure; record the bottle rather than assuming identical sweetness or strength.
  • Alternate citrus garnish — Editorial presentation variation: use a different fresh citrus peel or slice for aroma without changing the measured liquids; garnish quantity is not an added juice measure.
